The Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) is an innovative therapeutic approach developed by the American therapist Lisa Schwarz. In contrast to traditional therapeutic approaches that are often focused on the past and on problems, CRM places the emphasis on strengthening individual resources. The philosophy of CRM is that every person already possesses the necessary resources to overcome challenges and reach their goals.
CRM combines elements from various therapeutic approaches, such as hypnotherapy, bodywork, breathing exercises and visualisations. Sessions are tailored to the individual needs of the client and may consist of a combination of these techniques. The therapist works closely with the client to identify and strengthen individual resources. Modern insights from attachment theory are drawn upon alongside shamanic techniques to make the nervous system more flexible and adaptable. In the process, dissociated or less integrated parts of the self are made accessible again.
Just as with Somatic Experiencing, CRM has proven effective for a wide range of challenges and difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, difficult birth experiences or relationship difficulties. By strengthening and connecting to inner resources, you can learn to approach challenges in a more powerful and confident way, to develop your potential and achieve your goals.
In this way CRM can be an effective treatment for people who are looking for a powerful and resource-oriented therapeutic approach.
